A Eucharistic Celebration at the Good Shepherd Chapel in Quezon City to launch the three-year preparations for the centennial of Good Shepherd Sisters’ presence in the Philippines, was held on October 3.
A medical team of Good Shepherd Sisters and friends offered free medical services and medicines to the victims of typhoon Ondoy in Bagong Silangan, Quezon City on October 13.
The team was composed of a doctor, two nurses, a pharmacist, and several sisters who assisted as medical secretaries and helped in dispensing medicines to the children and adult patients.
Good Shepherd Sisters and friends respond to the needs of typhoon victims whose homes and other belongings were destroyed during the recent typhoon Ondoy that hit various cities and provinces in the Philippines last Saturday, September 26.
Continuous rains that started September 25 and continued the next day were said to have poured what could have been a month’s rain in just six hours. Heavy rains caused by Typhoon Ondoy triggered floods and swelling of rivers that made roads impassable and kept people stranded for hours.
