According to Ms. Ana Lisa Malbog, principal of the Elementary Department, "this is the third year that the department has organized this activity. This year, Sisters' Day was held in collaboration with the High School and College Departments."
Inspite of the rains caused by typhoon Gener, 59 sisters left Manila and other places assured by Sr. Florencia Tio, local leader of SBC Community in Batangas that classes were not suspended in the city. Upon arrival in Batangas, the local government has already cancelled the classes in all levels.
As the sisters arrived in the school, the students who were on their way home, fetched by their parents, greeted them, "Happy Sisters' Day!"
The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Joseph Rodem Ramos of the St. Therese of the Child Jesus parish and the program for continued, no longer with the participation of SBC students who were fetched by their parents, but by the faculty and the sisters. There was an exchange of songs, dances and stories during the celebration. For the sisters, the day was also an occasion to thank the faculty and staff of St. Bridget College for their collaboration in the mission of the Good Shepherd Sisters. Sr. M. Cecilia Torres, province leader and Sr. M. Lydia Ebora, SBC president, were grateful for the 100 years that the Good Shepherd Sisters have been in the Philippines.
At the end of the program and lunch, the teachers and students of St. Bridget School also gave the sisters gifts as token of their gratitude andn love.
