Temporary Professed Sisters renew vows on April 24

Two temporary professed sisters renewed their vows last April 24, feast of St. Mary Euphrasia, at the Good Shepherd Chapel in Quezon City.

Sr. M. Cielo Matuloy, an apostolic sister from the Philippines, and Sr. Kristiana Prasetyo, a contemplative sister from Indonesia, renewed their vows in the presence of Sr. M. Cecilia Torres, province leader. Both temporary professed sisters belong to the Philippine Province of the Good Shepherd. As of now there is no Good Shepherd contemplative community in Indonesia.

SISTERS FROM OTHER UNITS

As of now the sisters from other
Units who are in the Philippines are: Sr. Callen Nyaboke Abenga of Kenya for her canonical year in the Novitiate, and will return to Kenya on May 10; Sr. Rosabel Perez of Peru for her two-year internationality experience; Sr. Angelina Ibrahim Trilly Koko of Sudan for her one year internationality experience; Sr. AnnaTram Nguyen is returning to Mid North America after a year of internationality experience; Sr. Stephania Kong of South Korea who is attending a renewal course at the East Asian Pastoral Institute (EAPI); and Sr. Lakshmi Fernando of Sri Lanka who is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Psychology at the De La Salle University. Sr. Theresa Song of South Korea also arrived this week for discernment retreat and experience of the contemplative life.

Present during the Eucharistic Celebration were Good Shepherd Sisters from various community in the Philippines and two other temporary professed sisters who are in the country for their international apostolic experience-- Sr. Rosabel Perez from Peru and Sr. Angelina Ibrahim Trilly Koko of Sudan.

Both Sr. Cielo and Sr. Kristiana just finished their theological studies at the Institute of Formation and Religious Studies. They are also preparing for their apostolic experience this year.

Just recently six temporary professed sisters from other units who were in the Philippines for Theological Studies at IFRS successfully finished their courses. They returned to their units to continue their mission. Sr. Jane Kendi Mutuambia, Sr. Pauline Njura Mugaithia and Sr. Lydia Kagendo Mutwiri left for Kenya on March 15, while Sr. Kelly Ngai of Malaysia, Sr. Flora Nant Mar Mar Swe and Sr. Lucy Aung Sian of Myanmar returned to their countries on March 30.

The program of the young sisters are coordinated by Sr. Teresita Figueroa, the directress of the Temporary Professed sisters in the Philippines.
