Four temporary professed sisters from the Province of East Asia renewed their vows on February 7 at the Good Shepherd Chapel, 1043 Aurora Blvd. in Quezon City.
Srs. Dominic, Felix, Magdalena and Theresa from Myanmar made their renewal of vows before Sr. M. Cecilia Torres, province leader of the Philippines. Myanmar is one of the countries in the East Asia Province. Others are Vietnam Cambodia and Thailand. The province leader of the East Asia Province is Sr. Michelle Lopez from Thailand.
The four sisters are in the Philippines for their theological studies and are enrolled at the Institute of Formation and Religious Studies (IFRS). While in the Philippines, Sr. Teresita Figueroa, directress for temporary profession of the Philippine Province, accompanies them.
Presider of the Eucharistic Celebration was Fr. Roque d'Acosta of the Congregation of the Holy Cross (CSC). Present during the renewal of vows were Good Shepherd Sisters, members of several religious congregations who regularly attend Mass at the Good Shepherd convent.
Besides Srs. Dominic, Felix, Magdalena and Theresa, Good Shepherd Sisters from other provinces are in the Philippines for studies in various courses. They are: Sr. Maria Droste from Myanmar who is pursuing a degree in social work at the Asian Social Institute; Sr. Cheong Hye, a temporary professed sister from South Korea (Northeast Asia Province) is taking English language course at the Ateneo Language Center; Sr. Placida Kim, also from South Korea, is also enrolled at the ALC as a preparation for the international RGS Formators' Training that will be held in Maryridge late this year; Teresa from Vietnam who is taking theological studies; Sr. Lakshmi Fernando, who earlier came to attend renewal courses at the East Asian Pastoral Institute (EAPI) and is now pursuing a Master's degree in Counselling at the De la Salle University; and Sr. Rosanna Hung of Taiwan (Northeaast Asia Province) who is attending a renewal course at the EAPI.
