ONE SPIRIT, ONE MISSION

The retreat “Participating in the Mission of the Holy Spirit “was held in
Maryridge, July 14-19, 2015.  Thirty-five
RGS, apostolic and contemplative and two lay mission partners attended the
sessions directed by Fr. Hermes Larry Sabud, SM.  After the experience, the retreat
participants realized it will be a significant bridge between the Cluster Echo
of the Congregational Chapter being shared by Sr. Gina and our Chapter
delegates Sisters Alice and Ellen and the implementation of Chapter Directives
that will follow.

At the end of his homily at the Mass
on Monday, day of departure fromTagaytay, Fr. Larry gave a “take home” word for
the days ahead:
FORWARD!  At the blessing and
the dismissal, the word came up again three times and the retreatants answered
AMEN! in increasing intensity.

What is almost awesome now is to remember
St. Mary Euphrasia’s own words of encouragement sometime in the 1840s   when
our founding Sisters left for new missions in the New World. Mother Foundress
blessed them and sent them forth:  “
We must rouse ourselves, we must be ever
ready to march.”  (
Conference 6) or
as translated in 1992 by Mother Thomas Aquinas Lee:  “
Let us rouse ourselves and go forward!”

Separated by more than 150 years, one
Spirit and one Mission unite us!  The
call for us is ever the same:   to follow
the Spirit’s lead and go even beyond borders to do the Good Shepherd’s “holy
work” entrusted to us.    With our new CLT, may it come true for us in
our time and for our world:   “
Energized by the Holy Spirit, we Risk
together for Mission!”
