Sr. Angela Fahy OLC, congregational leader of the Union of Our Lady of Charity, visited Good Shepherd Communities on November 15-17.
Sr. Angela, who arrived from Rome on Saturday, November 13, is in the Philippines upon the invitation of the Congregation of Jesus and Mary (The Eudists). She will be one of the resource persons of the international session of Eudist seminarians being held in Tagaytay City. Her series of talks will start November 18. The session will be held at the Eudist community but Sr. Angela will stay at Maryridge, the retreat center of the apostolic Good Shepherd Sisters.
On November 15, Sr. Angela came to visit the communities at 1043 Aurora Blvd. with Sr. Cecilia Torres RGS, province leader of the Philippines, who just finished her annual retreat in Tagaytay. Besides, Maryridge, she also earlier visited the Bahay Pastulan community and the Contemplatives of the Good Shepherd - Tagaytay.
In Quezon City, the communities that she visited included, Good Shepherd Community-- for visiting sisters from the country and abroad and houses the Infirmary; St. Bridget School and community, Euphrasian Community, Heart of Mary Villa, the Provincialate. She also had occasions for conversations with the Formation Team and the temporary professed sisters from the Philippines, Myanmar, South Korea and Vietnam.
During the November 17 Mass presided by Piarist Father Fernando Guillen, Sr. Angela thanked the communities for the warm welcome and the enriching sharing with the Sisters and the . She said she welcomed the invitation of the Eudists and was happy that she will have the opportunity to visit and meet Good Shepherd Sisters in the country.
On the way back to Maryridge, Tagaytay she and Sr. Patricia Perez RGS passed by Bukid Kabataan in General Trias, Cavite. Bukid Kabataan is a residence for street children.
The international session for Eudist seminarians is being coordinated by the Eudists of the Philippine Mission - Fathers Ron Bagley from the Unted States, Francois Jourdan from France, Jose Angel Carillio from Colombia and Anselm from Congo. St. John Eudes founded the OLC in 1641 and the Eudists in 1643.
Begun in 2007 upon the invitation of Imus Bishop Chito Tagle, the Eudist Philippine Mission had Frs. Ron, Amadeo Pedroza and Pierre Marchand as founders. Several Eudists have come to the Philippines to help in the mission.
From January 5-11, 2010, Fr. Michel Gerard and the Eudist General Council were in Tagaytay for their meeting.
