St. Bridget College Operation Rise-Up
and Shine Bataguenos (SBC-RSB) continues to visit those affected by Taal
Volcano eruption in various parts of Batangas.
Sr. Clare Bagot, president of SBC, said that since January 14, donations have been given to evacuees in
Dumantay, East Elementary School, Capitolio (Dreamzone), Balete Elementary
School, Gulod Evacuation Center, Sumuclay Evacuation Center, Tingga Itaas
Evacuation Center, Sports Complex Evacuation Center and Tingga Labac. A
total of 390 families received bags of relief goods.
January 15. Donations were also given
to those in Banaba West, Conception Elementaty School, Office of GSP, RK
Village Sto Nino (Taal, Agoncillo, San Nicolas), Malalim, Durungao Elementary
School, Bolbok, Muzon 1, Paharang, San Jose, San Isidro, Malvar, San Pascual, Manghinao,
Rosario (Mac A Elementary School), Bungahan Ibaan Elementary School, LPU
Boarding House, De Joya Alangilan, Inicbulan Elementary School, JAPMES, Dalig,
Bukal, Gulod, Lyn Ville Subdivision, Mount View, El Sitio from Taal, San Nicolas,
Lemery, Cuta Brgy Hall, Malitam. A total of 728 families received
bags of relief goods.

St. Bridget College and
the Religious of the Good Shepherd Province of Philippines-Japan are grateful
to the individuals, alumni, students, friends and families who have sent their
donations in cash and in kind so that we can reach out to those affected by the
eruption of Taal Volcano.
Items that were donated included water, toiletries, biscuits, slippers,
noodles, candies, canned goods, toys, blankets, bed sheets, pails and other
plastic wares, groceries, clothes, t-shirts, pants, diapers, mats, fresh eggs,
dishwashing liquid, sanitary napkins, toilet paper, tumblers and towels,
detergent bars, bath soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, underwear, rice,
pillows, hygiene kits, pizza, rice, coffee, chocolate drink, face masks,
garbage bags and other assorted goods.
SBC also conducted on
January 23, 2020, an activity called DASAL (DAsal, Aral, Sayaw, Awit at Laro)
for the children in evacuation centers. The venue was Julian A Pastor Memorial
Elementary School.
SBC students and faculty
also offered their services as volunteers of Red Cross.
Sr.
Teresita Figueroa RGS said that SBC went for relief operations in
Agoncillo, one of the hardest hit by the Taal eruption. She said, “Taal volcano
is so near and place is still full of ashfall. We were advised to wear masks
and googles as protection.”
On Feb. 22,
2020 , Sr. Celeste YUzon local leader of SBC Community said they went to
San Luis and Agoncillo for distribution of relief goods to families. She said
“it was heartbreaking as so many people need help... God is our strength!”
