SBCA Senior High School Building Blessing

One fine day, on June 8, 2016,
Feast of Blessed Maria Droste, the new "state of the art" senior high
school building of St. Bridget College Alitagtag was blessed. The day
before the blessing was a labor of love of all the teachers and maintenance
staff who cleaned the whole building and put plants around the building.
They made sure that the building will look "homey", conducive to
study as a center for excellence!  For the untying of the ribbon before
the blessing, five blue and white ribbons of equal size were placed at the
entrance of the building.  Special persons wererequested to untie the
ribbons.  They were Sr. Mary Regina Kuizon, our Province Leader, Sr. Mary
Bernadette Guzman, our school president, Fr. Bernard Aguila, the Parish Priest
of Cuenca, a neighboring parish, where our teachers and many of our students
live, Mr. Roldan Atienza, our integrated basic education (K - 12) principal and
Miss Precious Delgado, the senior high school faculty team leader.

Only selected guests were invited
- Sisters from Batangas City and Quezon City, Fr. Bernard Aguila, some parents
of our Grade 11 students, some Grade 11students, faculty members and
non-teaching staff, the building construction contractors and some close
friends.  The liturgy for the blessing prepared by St. Bridget College in
Batangas City was also used in Alitagtag with minor changes.

Fr. Bernard Aguila mentioned in
his homily that we are lucky to have such a beautiful senior high school
building.  He even encouraged us to campaign for more students in his
parish.  Sr. Bernadette in her welcome message explained the feast of
Blessed Maria Driste and Sr. Regina in her thanksgiving message mentioned the
responsibility of the family in the upbringing and formation of the children.

A simple meal (brunch) was served
after the blessing.  Everybody praised and thanked God for this huge and
precious gift.

Indeed, God's love is overflowing!
