The 30th Congregational Chapter elected Sr. Ellen Kelly as the 12th congregational leader on June 28, 2015. Sr. Ellen is from the Province of New York.
At the time of her election, she is serving as province leader of New York, having been re-appointed by Sr. Brigid Lawlor for a period of three years. She began her mandate as province leader on June 24, 2014.

The informaton published in the congregational website after her reappointment as province leader states: "Sr. Ellen made her perpetual profession on 8th September 1973. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies and a Master’s degree in Social Work. She is also a trained spiritual director.She worked in residential programs for adolescent girls, served as a social worker, and was executive director for a multi-services program for adolescents. She has been involved in Pax Christi and is currently serving on a coalition of women religious against human trafficking.
She served as a local leader, vocation and formation director, province councilor, and has been a member of different committees on a province level.
