AT LAST – AN ELEVATOR!

On May 23, 2015, Maryridge, Tagaytay
City, had the blessing of the elevator, a precious gift indeed of Dr. Celestine
Dizon or fondly called Sr. Cel and the Celestino-Maria Dizon Foundation
Inc.  Sr. Cel, friend and
benefactor of the Good Shepherd Sisters has been part of the 103 years history
of the congregation in the Philippines.

Maryridge
is known to be a place of healing and renewal.  Because of its closeness to nature,
the beautiful surroundings of Maryridge has attracted students, families,
retreatants and people in need of care and shepherding.  But because the Chapel is located on
the second floor, the elderly and senior sisters, guests and retreatants find
it a real challenge to climb the stairs.  And there is a third floor too to
reckon with.

The
lift in British english or elevator in American english is indeed a felt needfor a long time and our friend Sr. Cel made it possible.  The Maryridge community echoes the
French proverb that St. Mary Euphrasia used to quote, “Gratitude is the memory
of the heart.”  This
gratitude will be echoed by all those who will use the elevator, a wonderful
gift indeed,   and
raise a prayer of thanks to God for all those who shared His abundant
blessings.    May
all experience the fullness of life!
