Games followed and after lunch was the Magic Show. The magician is an “old” friend of the
RGS, Cris, a former Boy Scout Master, at the time when the Sisters were at
Caritas Manila.
Booths were put up in the garden, selling IGP products plus rummage sale of
collected “white elephants.”
A filipina OFW, Mary Jane Veloso, scheduled to be executed tomorrow was
the focus of our prayers and concern. After
the Mass, Sister Maureen Catabian asked everyone present to sign a petition to
reconsider the execution of Mary Jane. Then at 6 p.m. everyone was invited
to a candle lighting ceremony, a symbolic way of appealing to spare the life of
Mary Jane, held at 1043’s front gate. The
whole filipino nation was praying for a miracle to save her.
