The
Good Shepherd Sisters in the Philippines will hold its Province Assembly
November 13-14 at the Good Shepherd Convent in Quezon City.

Expected
are more than a hundred sisters missioned in 22 apostolic communities and 4
contemplative communities in the Philippines.
The
Province Assembly is a preparation for next year’s Province Chapter, scheduled
March 14-24, 2014, in Maryridge Tagaytay. The assembly will be preceded by a meeting of sisters who opted Full
Participation in the chapter. This is the 10th province chapter in
the Philippines and its second open chapter.

is a privileged time in the history
of
a Province. Through dialogue and prayer, the Chapter
assesses the life of
the Province, renews its fidelity to the charism
and plans for the
future.”
(Constitutions, 98)
The
Open Chapter offers three modes of participation: Mode I, Full Participation –Participation in the
preparations, prayers, and participation in the chapter itself; Mode II,
Partial Participation – Participation in the preparations and prayers; Mode
III, Partial Participation – Prayers during the preparation and prayers during the
chapter itself.
Several
months ago, the Preparatory Committee composed of Srs. Regina Kuizon, Ananita
Borbon, Ailyn Binco, Ludila Panaligan, Celeste Engutan, Ronafel de Leon and Lay
mission partner Ma. Socorro Lalap, engaged the sisters in evaluating the Broad
Directions set during the 2008 Province Chapter. Except for Sr. Celeste, the
committee met the sisters and mission partners in the different regions,
National Capital Region (NCR), Cavite-Batangas-Baguio-Isabela, Bicol Region and
Visayas-Mindanao to review the implementation of the Broad Directions, The
Broad Directions set during the chapter were reviewed: Good Shepherd Spirituality,
Holistic Formation for Mission, Prophetic Ministries, Partnership in Mission
with the Laity, Leadership and Governance, Stewardship for Mission and Vocation
Ministry. Another objective, Journey of Enrichment, was added in the community
goals after the 2009 Congregational Chapter.
The
results of the discussions in the four cluster meetings will be shared during
the Province Assembly scheduled November 13-14 in Quezon City. Fr. Fred Dulay MJ
will facilitate the Province Assembly that would engage the sisters in Modes 1,
2, 3 to discern on the priorities during the next six years of the province and
the congregation. A discernment of the sister who can lead the province given
the priorities identified will be held.
