Second Module of Asia-Pacific Formators' Program held in Maryridge November 7-December 8

The second module of the Asia-Pacific Formators' Program is being held November 7- December 8 in Maryridge, Tagaytay.

Theme of the program is, "A Living Story at the Heart of Good Shepherd Mission."

Fifty directress of pre-novitiate, novitiate, temporary professed sisters and province leaders are attending the program facilitated by Sr. Susan Chia and Sr. Elaine Basinger. Among the resource persons this year is Sr. Evelyn Fergus from Ireland, a member of the General Council 1997-2003. Sr. Liliane Tauvette and the General came in 2001 for the Administration for Mission session.

They are assisted by two interns, Sr. Josita Corera of Sri Lanka and Maria Dipal of Malaysia, the core team Sr. Florence Soe of Myanmar, Sr. Agnessama of India, Sr. Dhammi Fernando of Sri Lanka and Sr. Sandra Masilang of Malaysia. Coordinating the activities is Sr. Teresita Figueroa of the Philippines who is a member of the Formation for Mission Committee of the congregation.

According to the participants, they "are
creating a sacred space of co-learning as we plan, decorate and create
spaces where friendships can be renewed and time be spent in integration
and transformation."

Module 2, they said, "will be for us a time of re-calling and sharing the joys and
struggles of our lived experience of the holistic model. We look forward
to share with each other how this learning has been integrated in the
formation program of the Province. This module 2 will continue to call
and challenge us to deepen our learning of the holistic model."

The first module was held in Maryridge from October- November 2011.

On the last week of the second module, the Asia-Pacific Circle of Province Leaders will join the formators in the sessions, then on December 9-11, the province leaders will hold their annual meeting. Expected to attend are the leaders of the provinces of Indonesia, Japan, India/Nepal, East Asia, Northeast Asia, Philippines, Sri Lanka/Pakistan, Singapore/Malaysia and Australia Aotearoa/New Zealand.
