The ashes of Sr. Mary Soledad Perpiñan RGS, who passed away July 26 in Quezon City were inurned at the Good Shepherd Convent Columbarium last July 29, feast of St. Martha.
The inurnment was preceded by a Mass of the Resurrection at the Good Shepherd Chapel, 1043 Aurora Blvd. concelebrated by Fr. Manny Flores, SJ, Fr. Roque d'Acosta CSC, Fr. Pete Arguillas MSC, Fr. Ding Coronel, Fr. Jim Ferry MM and Fr. Ron Bagley CJM.
Before the Mass, the Good Shepherd Sisters paid tribute to Sr. Soledad who spent 51 years of dedicated service as an apostolic sister. Sr. Sol was accepted to the Novitiate in Los Angeles on April 24, 1960, she made her first profession of vows two years later on April 24, 1962 on the feast of Sr. Mary Euphrasia. She pronounced her vows perpetually on May 9, 1967 in Quezon City.
She was assigned in various ministries beginning with Bridget College in Batangas; she also co-founded Ibon Facts and Figures, now Ibon International and the Third World Movement against the exploitation of Women (TW-MAE-W).
