Mt. Maid Training
Center Partners with TESDA Part II
As part of Mt. Maid Training
Center’s skills upgrade for its staff and student workers, the Technical
Educational Skills Development Authority
(TESDA) sent an assessor, Ms. Annabelle
Ateo-an last August 30, 2012 for Baking Breads and Pastries.
Nineteen
staff members and student-workers successfully passed. This qualifies them to
receive a National Certificate Level II (NC II). The products made during the assessment were Basic Sweet Dough for Tea Ring, Dinner
Rolls and Cinnamon Swirl; Marian Whole Wheat Loaf and Boat Tarts with Cashew Filling.
After the hand-on demonstrations,
Ms. Annabelle Ateo-an interviewed each applicant for the NC II. The student-workers assigned at the Bakeshop
also know how to bake ensaymada, torta, muffins, braided ube, pesto bread,
garlic French bread, potato bread, pan de sal, raisin bread and a variety of
cookies. The assessor was more than
satisfied and commended the students for the skills training given them at Mt. Maid Training Center while
pursuing a college education or
technical/vocational course.
Mt. Maid Training Center plans to
have yearly assessment for Food Processing and Baking Breads/ Pastries for all its student-workers before they graduate.
