Inay Mercedes Macarandang, a lay consecrate, renewed her commitment on September 15, 2011, feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. The renewal of consecration was held during the Eucharistic Celebration at the Good Shepherd Chapel in Quezon City.
Presider of the Mass was Fr. Baltazar Obico OFM, provincial of the Order of Friars Minor.

Good Shepherd Sisters assigned at the various communities in 1043 Aurora Blvd., were present during her renewal. Inay Mercedes said this is her 61st renewal as a lay consecrate. She has always assisted the Good Shepherd Sisters in the mission of the congregationa through Euphrasian Community. She has helped both the St. Domitilla's Residence and the Euphrasian Residence and is a friend to many of the girls who stayed in the residences.
She said, she is grateful to God for the opportunity to be of service to the Good Shepherd through the residential apostolate.
