Easter Sunday at the Good Shepherd Convent in Quezon City is marked today by the renewal of vows of two temporary professed sisters and acceptance to the novitiate of three pre-novices.
Today, April 24, remembered as the feast of St. Mary Euphrasia, foundress of the Good Shepherd Congregation, Sr. Ana Cielo Matuloy, an apostolic sister and Sr. Kristiana NKR Prasetyo, an Indonesian contemplative sister, renewed their vows in the presence of Sr. Cecilia Torres, province leader, and the sisters in the Philippine Province. The renewal of vows was integrated in the celebration of the Eucharist presided by Fr. Vic Sadaya, CMF.
Sr. Cecilia Torres also released the list of new mission assignments in the Philippine Province. The new assignments are released traditionally on Easter Sunday or the feast of St. Mary Euphrasia. This year, the two occasions fall on the same day, April 24.
At 4 p.m., Clara Lina Loilo and Guardian from the Philippines, with Callen Nyaboke Abenga of Kenya, will be accepted to the Novitiate.
During Holy Week triduum, Masses and services were held at the Good Shepherd Convent. Sisters, staff, mission partners, families and friends gathered for the celebrations.
Fr. Efren Reyes of the Missionaries of Jesus, presided the Mass of the Lord's Supper, while the Passion of Our Lord services were led by Evan Villanueva and two Chinese Camilians.
The Easter Vigil was highlighted by the ceremonies of lights, the renewal of baptismal promises of those present. An adult baptism was held for one of the caregivers at the Maria Droste Infirmary of Good Shepherd Community.
