BECs join 62nd foundation anniversary <br>of Holy Family parish in San Andres, Bukid

Members of Basic Ecclesial Communities participated in the parade of the Holy Family Parish in San Andres Bukid, Manila held last August 31.

The parade was the culmination of the 62nd founding anniversary celebrations of the parish with its theme “ Ang Diyos ay puspos ng kaayusan, ang saligan ng ating simbahan, huwaran sa kinabukasan.”

The parade, “PARADA NG MAUNLAD PAROKYA,” was aimed at making the people aware of the different organizations and services available in the parish.
Every organization/group carried its banner with its slogan that speaks about who they are and what they are for.  With its short period of preparations, the organizers were surprised at the actual turn-out of participation of the parishioners. The long stretch of participants showed that there are about twenty organizations/groups present in the Holy Family Parish and are actively involved in making the parish alive.  With the parish priest Fr. Reynaldo Cruz and the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), Holy Family parishcollaborate to ensure the delivery of parish services.  It took about two hours for the parade to complete its route from the church passing to the main roads then to the narrow streets along San Andres and back to the parish grounds.

While many parishioners joined the parade, there were more people who were in their homes came out to watch the parade as it passed by their dwelling places.

Aside from the BEC, the sisters in Tahanan, Sr. Juanita Dano and Sr. Emma Marzan, are also involved in the parish with counselling/accompaniment.  The Parish Priest often promotes this ministry and encourages the parishioners  who are in need to come and avail of such service.
