Good Shepherd Sisters and lay mission partners in the National Capital Region gathered on December 21 to celebrate Christmas with the theme, "Aguinaldo para sa Kalikasan."
Participants were communities of Welcome House-Tahanan in Paco and San Andres, Manila, Euphrasian Community, Heart of Mary Villa, Good Shepherd Community, Heart of Mary Villa, Provincialate and St. Bridget School in Quezon City.
The celebration began with a Mass held at the Good Shepherd Chapel, with Fr. Dan Cancino, MI as presider. He emphasized on the role of sisters and lay mission partners in God's mission. Intercessions brought to the communal prayers, the concerns of the Church and the world especially those affected by calamities such as earthquakes and typhoons, and offertory consisted of seedlings to be planted to contribute to the care of Mother Earth. After the Mass, taho or bean curd was served to the delight of all.
A procession from the chapel to the SBS covered court followed. The program of songs, skits and dances was participated in by the six communities. For some more fun, prizes were raffled off. Household items were won by the lay mission partners while sisters won seedlings of fruit bearing trees to be planted in convent garden. Three major prizes gave lay mission partners opportunities to visit with their families the Good Shepherd Farm in Sariaya, Quezon.
