Day 4: Looking at priorities and process of discernment of province leader

The day was spent looking at our priorities
and broad directions together with the partners in mission.  Personal time was given for reflection on the
question, “Where do I sense the Spirit firing us to take risk for our mission?”  Sr. Linda Lizada RC, facilitator, singled out
the two words “energize” and “risk” which is in our chapter theme.  The process is to further sharpen the
directions considering the conversations during these chapter days.

Responses were posted for gallery viewing and the sisters were given the chance
to express their agreement to three responses by placing colored stickers on
the response.  Later, the priorities were
again discussed in small groups.

In the afternoon, Sr. Brigid Lawlor announced
the names of the sisters from whom the new province leader would be
elected.  Sr. Linda, RC led the sisters
to a process of discernment as the delegates went into individual prayer and
reflection until the Eucharistic celebration in the evening.

The delegates spent an hour of adoration
after supper invoking the guidance of the Holy Spirit on the choice of the
leader who will lead the province for the next six years as preparation for the
election the next day.
