Alay Kapwa Christian Community, Good Shepherd Sisters, family and friends mark 8th death anniversary of Sr. M. Christine Tan, RGS

Masses were celebrated October 6 in Good Shepherd Convents and the Assumption parish church in Malate, to mark the eighth death anniversary of +Sr. M. Christine Tan RGS.

Fr. Benjie Ledesma, parish priest, was the celebrant of the 8 a.m. Mass organized by the Alay Kapwa Christian Community and participated by Alay Kapwa members in the different areas of Malate, Paco and Cavite, members of her family, friends and Good Shepherd Sisters from Metro Manila communities.

Born on November 30, 1930 in Manila, Sr. Christine, passed away on October 6, 2003 at the age of 72. She spent 49 years as a religious. She was a friend of the poor, a human rights advocate and member of the Constitutional Commission. She was the first Filipina Provincial of the Good Shepherd Sisters in the country.

The Alay Kapwa paid tribute to her great service to the poor. They offered flowers and prayers of gratitude for the work that she did for the urban poor.
