Message and Announcement of Centennial Committee and Working Committees
Sr. Cecilia Torres, RGS, province leader, Good Shepherd Sisters in the Philippines
October 3, 2009

A year ago, the Province Leadership Team appointed members of the “think tank” a group of sisters who would brainstorm on the possible activities that we could hold to celebrate the 100 years of Good Shepherd presence in the Philippines.

We thank the think tank for the list of activities that we can hold in both the province and community levels.

Thanks
to the
Think Tank

Sr. Fe Mendoza RGS
Sr. Bernadette Guzman RGS
Sr. Lydia Ebora RGS
Sr. Juliet Abrigo RGS

The think tank, composed of Sr. Fe Mendoza, Sr. Bernadette Guzman, Sr. Lydia Ebora and Sr. Juliet Abrigo, asked the different communities in the Philippine province to give suggestions about the programs that we can do to celebrate the centennial. These suggestions were collated and along with the other projects that the think tank came up with, were presented to the Province Leadership Team

A Centennial Committee is also appointed by the Province Team. They are Sr. Juliet Abrigo, Sr. Aida Casambre, Sr. Bernadette Guzman, Sr. Celeste Engutan CGS and Sr. Regina Kuizon.

A group of Consultants will also help the Centennial Committee. The Consultants of Srs. Marion Chipeco, Sr. Teresita Fiel, Sr. Socorro Galvez CGS, Sr. Fe Mendoza, Sr. Regina Pil and Sr. Mary James Wilson.

The Centennial Committee will collaborate with sisters in the Working Committees.  These committees are:

l        Research/Publications/Archives
l        Souvenir/Calendars
l       Spirituality
l        Logistics, and
l        Awards

The names of the sisters are printed on the liturgy sheet and will be sent to the communities along with the suggested activities as we move towards our centennial. These will also be posted on our province website which is also going through some transformation. We count on the participation of each Good Shepherd Sister and the collaboration of our lay affiliates, staff, students, benefactors and friends as we move towards our centennial that focuses on the theme: Weaving Compassion, Embracing Challenges, Forging Hope
