Centennial Staff visits Welcome House, Alay Kapwa

On November 5, Saturday morning at 8:00 the Sister, girls and staff of Welcome House bade goodbye to the Centennial Shepherd’s Staff with a brief prayer and the singing of Sangdaang Taon.

 Accompanied by Sisters, Pilar, Clare, Maria (Myanmar) Angeline (Sudan) and Evelyn, the Staff arrived at its next destination,  Assumption Parish in Leveriza, Malate.  Hundreds of Alay Kapwa members and friends welcomed  the Staff as it was led in procession to the altar by Welcome House and the Alay Kapwa leaders. Sr. Angeline handed over the Staff to the Parish priest, Fr. Benjie Ledesma who in turn placed the Staff at its designated place at the altar.

A brief introduction about the RGS Centennial and the traveling Staff was given by S. Evelyn.  Then Fr. Ledesma  read the Gospel of St. John on the Good Shepherd followed by a brief homily.   Intercessory prayers were offered by members of the Alay Kapwa community and two Sisters from Welcome House,

Srs. Maria and Angeline.  A word of thanks was given by the AK president, Rod then the closing prayers was given by Fr. Ledesma.   Snacks were served after which AK members took turns posing with the Shepherd’Staff.
