Representatives to the Capacity Building Training Workshop scheduled in Kuala Lumpur met with Sr. Clare Nolan at the Rosary Hall in Quezon City last February 2.
The eight Philippine representatives composed of Srs. Maureen Catabian, Bernadette Guzman, Alice Andres, Arabella Balingao, Virgo Espineda, Antonietta Go, Diane Cabasagan and Cecilia Torres also shared and listened to reports from the various Good Shepherd agencies that help fight trafficking of women.
Reports on the efforts being done in the different residences and institutions run by Good Shepherd Sisters in the country were given by Center for Overseas Workers in Davao City. Center for Overseas Workers in Quezon City, Good Shepherd Home- Legazpi, Welcome House in Paco, Welcome House- Cebu, St. Bridget College, SBC Community Center, St. Bridget College- Quezon City, Maayong Magbalantay in Pagadian City; and Good Shepherd - Cagayan de Oro City.
Lay mission partners and Good Shepherd Sisters participated in the reports which showed the various ways that Good Shepherd agencies are able to do to help migrant workers and their families. They also recognized the need to network among the agencies and with other NGOs local and international to provide better services to those in need.
