Apostolic and contemplative sisters profess vows on the feast of St. Mary Euphrasia

Sr. M.Corazon Arcega, apostolic sister and Sr. Roselle of St. Joseph Pascua, contemplative sister made their First Profession of Vows on April 24, 2020, feast of St. Mary Euphrasia, at the Good Shepherd Convent in Quezon City.

Presider of the Eucharistic Celebration was Fr. Ross Kapunan, OMI. Social distancing was observed during the rites, set amidst the lockdown in Manila and the Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the pandemic Covid-19. 

Sisters and staff in the communities in the Good Shepherd Compound and those delegates to the March 2020 Province Chapter who could not return to their communities, especially in the Visayas and Mindanao, were in attendance. Families of Srs. Cora and Roselle from Batangas City and Virac, Catanduanes were not able to attend the ceremonies due to the lockdown.

Sr. Lea Comia, novice directress (apostolic) and Sr. Ronafel de Leon, novice directress (contemplative) gave a short introduction of the two sisters and their journey in initial formation.

Sr. Regina Kuizon, province leader, received the two sisters as temporary professed sisters of the Religious of the Good Shepherd in the Province of Philippines-Japan. On behalf of the congregation, Sr. Regina also sent them to mission: Sr. Cora to Reach-Out Davao Community, and Sr. Roselle to Buhing Yuta Contemplative Monastery in Butuan City. They will go to their new communities when it is safe to travel.
