Day 6: Election of apostolic and contemplative Province Councilors

The whole day was a day of elections,
choosing the councillors who will assist the province leader for the next six
years plus delegates to the General Chapter in Angers,  Intercontinental Assembly (ICA) in Kuala
Lumpur and Congregational Assembly of Contemplatives (CACs) in Quito, Ecuador.

As preparation for the election of
councilors, Sr. Regina Kuizon, the newly elected province leader shared on how
she envisions her province leadership team.  Our Constitutions state that:

Her role is one of
spiritual and apostolic leadership, service , and love.  Through her support and animation, she  strives  to ensure union and the spiritual growth of the communities as well as
an effective apostolate in her province.  (Art. 100)

She enumerated the values she wished for
the province leadership team which included teamwork, love for the poor,
synergy and the concern not just for the province but also for the whole
congregation.

The election of councilors was held after
the recommendation for the number of province councillors was presented,
discussed and decided upon.  Elected apostolic
councilors were Sr. Ananita Borbon,  Sr.
Ludila Panaligan and Sr. Carmelita Arenas.  Elected contemplative councilor is Sr. Elena Jalop.

Sr. Regina will appoint one apostolic councillor and one contemplative  councillor.

Some former delegates to intercontinental
assemblies,  congregational chapter and
contemplative assemblies shared on their experiences and learnings prior to the
election of delegates.  Elected delegates
were:  Sr. Alicia Andres for the
Congregational Chapter, Sr. Ronafel de Leon and Sr. Elena Jalop for the
Congregational Assembly of Contemplative Sisters, Srs. Ludila Panaligan and Sr.
